Barking Dog Annoyances
The SEA LINKS at BIRCH BAY Board of Directors does not resolve barking dog annoyances.
It is best to, first, contact the dog’s owner directly and discuss the problem in a calm and neighborly manner.
If talking to the owner does not resolve the problem, contact the Whatcom Humane Society, which provides animal control for Whatcom County. Complete a complaint to have someone visit the home of the barking dog. Be aware that the barking must occur continuously for at least 20 minutes for Animal Control to do a visit.
You can also request a “Barking Log” from the Whatcom Humane Society. In this document, you write down the date and time the barking begins and stops for each incident. This document will have a Case # attached to it and will become a court issue.
Approved by the SEA LINKS at BIRCH BAY Association Board of Directors (Dated: March 5, 2016).
